Amerta is a purebred Akhal Teke mare born in 1997 at Russian Legenda stud farm. She was imported along with Almaty in early 2004. Amerta's sire is Arab line Akjol 7 and her dam is Toporbai line Mera. Amerta is a direct descendant of famous dressage horse Absent. Absent won the gold medal in dressage at the 1960 Rome Olympics at the age of eight years old with a score of 82.4% which was unprecedented at that time. Absent went on to win the bronze medal in dressage at the 1964 Olympics in Tokyo and he was a member of the soviet team who the gold medal in dressage a the 1968 Olympics in Mexico. Amerta is in foal to Ak Syrgym and due to deliver in May 2011
